摘要: We have initiated studies to evaluate the suitability of performing therapeutic conditioning trials in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) mice treated with alpha lipoic acid (ALA). EAE was induced SJL by active immunization myelin antigen. Once daily subcutaneous injection ALA served as unconditional stimulus (US) administered conditional (CS) saccharin-flavored drinking water under a regimen restricted access. In first study, we found that restriction and saccharin administration were compatible disease development effective treatment mice. second conditioned once paired (US+CS) on days 7-16. Test spanned 17-32 groups receiving either (CS, group) versus unflavored (CSo, control compared several measures severity using multivariate ANOVA (MANOVA). Reduced group (US+CS:CS) (US+CS:CSo) suggested had occurred. These results demonstrate an approach for conducting suggest considerations future investigations.
