摘要: Abstract The α lb β 3 integrin binds Arg-Gly-Asp-containing (RGD-containing) ligands in a cation-dependent interaction. A fourteen amino acid sequence, (118–131), and an antibody to it, inhibited ligand binding functions of , 1:1 stoichiometric (118–131)-RGD complex was detected by mass spectroscopy. Cation (118–131) demonstrated terbium luminescence Notably, displaced cation from the peptide also purified . Thus, highly conserved region subunits, both cation. Formation ternary between cation, ligand, receptor, with subsequent displacement second site within may be central mechanism recognition integrins.
