摘要: PURPOSE To report the novel use of osteotome as an adjunctive instrument in Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective interventional case series 15 patients, underwent endoscopic DCR at Singapore National Eye Centre, by a single ophthalmologist and rhinologist between April 2009 2011.All patients' records were reviewed information recorded included: demographics, level obstruction lacrimal system, operative time, postoperative symptoms complications (if any), length follow-up. All patients had preoperative syringing to determine obstruction, only if there any complaints epiphora. All surgeries on video. The mallet used all augment bone removal, Crawford stent (MIRA®) intubation was done left situ for 2 months. RESULTS total analyzed from August 2010. Ages ranged 22 77 years age with (MIRA ®) intubation. before surgery nasolacrimal duct except 1 patient who common canalicular obstruction. carried out described above no intraoperative or patients. Duration 65 minutes mean time 42.6 minutes. followed up 11 months resolution epiphora cases. CONCLUSION mallet, combination Kerrison rongeur diamond drill, has been found be useful creating large osteotomy DCR. It allowed greater ease speed performing this procedure, especially thicker narrower nasal cavities.
