摘要: Background The purpose of this study is to report the time taken for superior osteotomy and complications during step in primary powered endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (PEnDCR) using piezoelectric system mechanical burr. Methods This prospective interventional comparative series was performed on all consecutive patients who underwent a PEnDCR over 4-month period. The surgery as per standard protocols were operated by single surgeon (M.J.A.). Parameters documented demographic data, type instrument used, osteotomy, exposure agger nasi, entire sac, such excess bleeding, soft tissue injury, or mucosal burns. Statistical analyses linear mixed-effect model 2-sample t tests. Results A total 55 PEnDCRs studied, 29 burr group 26 ultrasonic group. mean 3.71 minutes (range, 1.75 6.58 minutes); it 4.12 1.33 6.25 minutes). There no significant difference (p = 0.17) between 2 groups. Subcategory age 0.057) sex 0.56) did not show any Two had an insignificant superficial sac injury 1 patient suffered epithelial burns away from site which resolved spontaneously without sequelae. bleeding groups. Conclusion The are comparable PEnDCR. If anatomical boundaries respected, their use appears be safe major complications.
