摘要: Abstract The syndrome of essential fatty-acid (E.F.A.) deficiency is being increasingly recognised as a complication long-term fat-free parenteral nutrition. In three patients who developed E.F.A. spontaneously after major intestinal resections the in serum was corrected by cutaneous application sunflower-seed oil, rich source fat linoleic acid. results suggest that even if percutaneous absorption oil complete, daily requirement for acid adult man may be only 2-3 mg. per kg. day, which much less than previous estimates.
