摘要: Abstract Various studies have described abnormalities of the enteric nervous system (ENS) in tissue samples from patients with chronic idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The distribution density different cell types ENS was however not studied a systematic way. aim this study to examine neurons, enteroglial cells and interstitial Cajal (ICC) plexuses Crohn’s disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC) controls. Tissue 16 CD (ileum) UC obtained involved non-involved areas were using immunohistochemistry antibodies directed against neuron-specific enolase, S100, C-Kit CD3. Sections analysed blindly by two pathologists number positive counted for each type. Overall, an increase noted neuronal bodies, enteroglia ICC deep muscular plexus CD. In uninvolved patients, decreased. UC, muscularis propria observed diseased tissue. confirms presence IBD. lesions areas, such as reduction enteroglia, supports pathogenetic role ENS.
