摘要: Fifteen permanent cell lines derived from human gliomas which are individually distinct by immunologic and biochemical criteria were evaluated to determine if morphologic or biologic parameters distinguished the 4 tumorigenic in athymic nude mice. By subjective appraisal, considered "malignant" "borderline," but of non-tumorigenic also classified this way. objective criteria, these 15 varied markedly percentage piled-up cells, chromatin pattern, pleomorphism, nuclear cytoplasmic ratio, number bizarre multinucleate giant presence abnormal mitotic figures, colony formation soft agar, saturation density, population doubling time, absolute plating efficiency. Among agar had highest correlation coefficiency with tumorigenicity, when parameter was held constant only additional characteristic correlated significantly (p less than .05) cells. When 11 ranked 2 1 line (U-251 MGsp) greater .95 predicted probability tumorigenicity. Although further tumorigenicity testing may increase lines, few characteristics correspond resembling cells low grade astrocytomas seen within glioblastomas. The histologic pleomorphism is reflected their diversity culture.
