摘要: We studied the reproductive biology of alpine ibex bred at Peter & Paul Wildlife Park, St. Gallen, Switzerland, from 1930 through 1943 and 1968 1983. Park had supplied most original stock used to reestablish populations in European Alps after they become extinct. Ibex females were seasonally polyestrous. Their estrous cycle averaged 20 days, their gestation period 167 days. Females between 1 15 years age on average produced 0.78 young per year; 3 13 0.99 year. The which captive gave birth was 8.44 years. Sex ratio unbiased. More singletons than twins born, but proportion born during 1983 higher earlier study period. There no differences survival rates male or female single twin offspring.
