摘要: The widespread use of screening mammography has resulted in a remarkable rise the diagnosis Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS). A resultant challenge is early these patients to identify those with concurrent invasive breast cancer (IBC), as one five DCIS at biopsy, are upgraded IBC following surgery. Both x-ray and multi-parametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) lack ability distinguish from reliably. Our robust methodology for 3D alignment histopathology images MRI provides unique opportunity spatially map digitized slides on pre-surgical which particularly important tumors where co-occur well study tumor heterogeneity. this proof-of-concept study, we developed evaluated methodological framework spatial slices, using radiographs intermediate modality. involves (1) co-registration 2D showing macrosections corresponding histology (2) reconstruction ex vivo specimen based images, aligned (3) registration reconstructed MRI. co-registered may enable identification features that aggressive indolent disease
