摘要: The construction of a parallel-plate electrostatic energy-analyser equipped with channel-plate focal-plane detector and novel acceleration electrode assembly has allowed the intrinsic energy losses field-evaporated ions to be measured for first time, under effectively steady-state conditions. It is found that have which are considerably less than originally predicted by Lucas plasmon-loss theory (1971); shown same order as those expected from charge-exchange or image-potential theories field evaporation, but exact numerical agreement not easily attained at present.
