摘要: Chagas disease or American trypanosomiasis is a pathology affecting about 8-11 million people in Mexico, Central America, and South more than 300 000 persons the United States as well an indeterminate number of other non-endemic countries such USA, Spain, Canada Switzerland. The aetiological agent Trypanosoma cruzi, protozoan transmitted by multiple routes; among them, congenital route emerges one most important mechanisms spreading worldwide even oral responsible outbreaks acute regions where vectorial has been interrupted. aim this review to illustrate recent research advances host-pathogen interaction making model how virulence factors parasite would interact with physiology immune system components placental barrier gastrointestinal tract order establish response against T. cruzi infection. This also presents epidemiological, clinical diagnostic features update reader emerging scenarios transmission.
