摘要: Acai berry is a fruit from the tree commonly known as acaizeiro (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) originated Amazonian region and widely consumed in Brazil. There are several reports of anti-inflammatory activity its pulp few data about seed’s potential inflammation control. This work aimed to evaluate effect catechin-rich acai extract on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells carrageenan-induced paw edema. The treatment with E. ethyl acetate (EO-ACET) was used an vitro model performed macrophages stimulated by LPS, which pro-inflammatory markers were evaluated, vivo acute inflammation, edema inhibition evaluated. EO-ACET showed absence endotoxins, did not display cytotoxic effects cells. LPS-stimulated treated displayed low levels nitrite interleukins (IL’s), IL-1β, IL-6 IL-12, when compared untreated able inhibit at 500 1000 mg/kg, no inflammatory reaction or mast cell counts observed histology site inoculation λ-carrageenan. These findings provide more evidence support further studies seeds for inflammation.
