Consumer perceptions of strain differences in Cannabis aroma

摘要: The smell of marijuana (Cannabis sativa L.) is interest to users, growers, plant breeders, law enforcement and, increasingly, state-licensed retail businesses. numerous varieties and strains Cannabis produce strikingly different scents but date there have been few, if any, attempts quantify these olfactory profiles directly. Using standard sensory evaluation techniques with untrained consumers we validated a preliminary lexicon for dried cannabis flower, characterized the aroma profile eleven sold in legal recreational market Colorado. We show that perceive differences among strains, form distinct clusters based on odor similarity, strain are linked perceptions potency, price, smoking interest.
