摘要: 1. Five different methods have been used to estimate the rate of advance regeneration along nerves in rabbit. Not all give same result. When axon tips is studied a higher recorded than when times necessary for functional recovery are considered. In latter case experiment gives measure not axons but completed nerve fibres, able function. 2. The ‘scar delay’, or period before arrival new peripheral stump, nearly constant well-made sutures (7.3 days). After interruption by complete crushing at one spot this delay only slightly shorter (5.2 days). 3. There further maturation level completion begins down nerve, so that total latent about 36 days after suture and 20 nerve. 4. fastest was determined finding furthest point from lesion which reflexes could be elicited pinching nerve. n. peroneus rabbit 3.5 4.4 mm./day. 5. This significantly distances cell body, namely high thigh below knee. 6. similar tibial, peroneal sural divisions sciatic rabbit. 7. functional, fibres measured making lesions various levels studying ( ) time return response nociceptive stimuli given on skin b motor function, namely, spreading toes. Both rates 2.0 mm./day suture, 3.0 crushing. 8. Analgesic areas foot shrink 2.1 during 1.6 suture. 9. Comparison muscles varying an 2.2 method approximate rabbit. 10. rabbits 1 month old greatly adults, scar less, proceeds more rapidly.
