摘要: Abstract The use of NaHSO 4 to leach out Mg fromlizardite-rich serpentinite (in form MgSO ) and the carbonation CO 2 (captured in Na 3 using NaOH) MgCO SO was investigated. Unlike ammonium sulphate, sodium sulphate can be separated via precipitation during recycling step avoiding energy intensive evaporation process required NH -based processes. To determine effectiveness /NaOH when applied lizardite, optimisation dissolution steps were performed a UK lizardite-rich serpentine. Temperature, solid/liquid ratio, particle size, concentration molar ratio evaluated. An optimal efficiency 69.6% achieved over 3 h at 100 °C 1.4 M bisulphate 50 g/l serpentine with size 75–150 μm. 95.4% 30 min 90 °C 1:1 magnesium:sodium carbonate non-synthesised solution. sequestration capacity 223.6 g carbon dioxide/kg (66.4% terms bonded hydromagnesite), which is comparable those obtained based Therefore, serpentinites represent valuable resource for pH swing mineralisation process.
