Somatostatin-28- and somatostatin- 14-like immunoreactivities in the rat pituitary gland

摘要: Endogenous SS14- as well SS28-like immuno-reactive materials were detected in both male and female rats by radioimmunoassay immunocytochemistry on ultrathin frozen sections. The content of somatostatin-like immunoreactivity was 0.39±0.08 pg per mg adenohypophysis. Immunoreactivity localized immunocyto-chemistry three pituitary cell types: somatotrophs, lactotrophs thyrotrophs, but not corticotrophs gonadotrophs. In these types the SS28- SS14-like immunoreactive cytoplasm nucleus. seen cytoplasmic matrix secretory granules. nucleus it present mainly euchromatin close to heterochromatin. somatotrophs lactotrophs, have been at plasma membrane level. These results suggest that (1) endogenous SS14 SS28 are adenohypophysis (2) two peptides act components
