摘要: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a group of zinc-dependent peptidases that participate in matrix turnover solid malignancies. The aim this study was twofold. First, we sought to investigate under case-control design the association between functional -1562C/T polymorphism promoter region MMP-9 and gastric cancer (GC) Turkish sample. Second, examined its prognostic significance GC patients. A total 144 subjects were enrolled (79 cases 65 controls). Overall survival (OS) progression-free (PFS) served as main outcome measures longitudinal study. genotyped using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length method. odds ratio (OR) for CC genotype relative CT+TT genotypes not significant (OR = 0.89, 95 % confidence interval [CI] = 0.44-1.82, P 0.75). These results did change after allowance age sex multivariable regression analysis 0.81, CI 0.40-1.94, 0.84). When analyzed among patients relation OS PFS, found no differences with genotypes. In conclusion, our point toward major role pathogenesis clinical course subjects.
