摘要: Objectives: Identified etiological factors for chronic widespread pain (CWP) are largely related to emotional and behavioral factors, but current management leads modest improvement in symptoms. Vitamin D deficiency has been suggested as a novel modifiable risk factor CWP. We examine the association between vitamin status [measured by 25(OH)D] CWP nationwide population sample of white British adults, accounting potential mediating confounding lifestyle factors. Methods: 9377 participants born one week March, 1958, England, Scotland or Wales completing biomedical assessment at age 45; 6824 eligible had data on 25(OH)D completed manikins. Results: Prevalence varied concentration women not men, with lowest prevalence observed females 75-99 nmol/l (14.6% 100nmol/l). There was an interaction gender relation (interaction, p=0.006), which fully explained differences social adjusted interaction, p= 0.03). For women, persisted after full adjustment (OR Conclusion: Current associated men. Follow-up studies needed evaluate whether higher intake could have beneficial effects risk.
