摘要: Blue-winged (Anas discors) and Cinnamon (A. cyanoptera) teal are closely related members of the blue-winged duck group (Johnsgard 1965, McKinney 1970). Habitat selection, social behaviors, plumages females juveniles these species quite similar 1970, Bellrose 1976, Palmer 1976). The species' ranges overlap in many parts Northwest, although Teal is a relatively recent pioneer eastern Washington (Wheeler Connelly 1978). Strong similarities ecological requirements behavior indicate that niches two must overlap, but coexistence over major portions their breeding wintering range suggests differences probably exist. purpose this study was to examine hypotheses time budgets, habitat were same species.
