摘要: RNA interference (RNAi) is a post-transcriptional gene-silencing (PTGS) phenomenon in which double-stranded (dsRNA) triggers the degradation of homologous mRNA species, thereby reducing gene expression. In fungi, use RNAi as tool for reverse genetics, aimed at modification expression, constantly growing, with more than 40 species already proven to be responsive. This technology has ability co-down-regulate expression several genes; however, this trait also makes it susceptible non-target effects, can addressed using both available and developing bioinformatic tools. Moreover, functionality absorbed exogenous molecules, various classes small RNAs found offer great versatility flexibility acquiring desired effects on even without necessity genetically modify targeted strain. There an emerging role potential biotechnological applications. evident from current investigations demonstrating contribution progress research applications biomaterials production, bioconversion, plant fungal interactions virulence factors human pathogens. Possible problems prospects biotechnology are discussed.
