摘要: An HIPR (high internal phase ratio) emulsion of oil in water is prepared by directly mixing 70 to 98% volume a viscous having viscosity the range 200 250,000 mPa.s at temperature with 30 2% an aqueous solution emulsifying surfactant or alkali, percentages being expressed as total mixture. Mixing effected under low shear conditions 10 1,000 reciprocal seconds such manner that formed comprising highly distorted droplets mean droplet diameters 2 50 micron separated thin interfacial films. The emulsions are much less than oils from which they and may, optionally after dilution, be pumped through pipeline. Viscous crude may transported this method.
