摘要: Abstract Since Firth’s (1990, 1996) seminal conversation analytic (CA) work on English as a lingua franca (ELF) interactions, the substantial amount of pragmatic ELF research has explored how interactants achieve intersubjectivity and social action in translingual settings from participant-relevant emic perspective (e.g., Jenks, 2012; Kaur, 2009). However, non-verbal resources are mostly disregarded majority with few exceptions. Meanwhile, mainstream CA predominantly investigates first language thus is still marginalized literature (Pietikainen, 2018b).
