Adsorption of ethylene on the Si(100)(2 × 1) surface

摘要: The adsorption of ethylene on Si(100)(2 × 1) has been studied using high-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy. Upon adsorption, the molecule re hybridizes from sp2 to and forms a di-σ bonded structure surface. However, bonding surface silicon atoms — whether or not SiSi dimer bond remains cannot be derived just study adsorption. With low exposures atomic hydrogen ethylene-saturated Si(100) surface, we observed an additional SiH vibrational mode no significant change in chemisorbed spectrum. This result leads conclusion that dangling bonds still exist after they are accessible hydrogen. Consequently, must accompanied by cleavage original
