摘要: The ocular lens is a model system for understanding important aspects of embryonic development, such as cell specification and the spatiotemporally controlled formation three-dimensional structure. lens, which characterized by transparency, refraction elasticity, composed bulk mass fiber cells attached to sheet epithelium. Although induction has been studied over 100 years, recent findings have revealed myriad extracellular signaling pathways gene regulatory networks, integrated executed transcription factor Pax6, that are required in vertebrates. This Review summarizes progress field, emphasizing interplay between diverse mechanisms employed form progenitor precursor highlighting novel opportunities fill gaps our tissue morphogenesis.
