摘要: The Stoffberg Widow, Dingana fraterna (Lepidoptera: Satyrinae), was only known from a single highly localised population near Stoffberg, South Africa. This butterfly is univoltine, with historical records indicating that adults fly for approximately 10 days in early October. It last seen 2002 and Red-Listed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct). cause of the extirpation type inappropriate burning its habitat during adult flight period. A new colony recently discovered October 2014 at site 46 km N locality by citizen scientists Lepidopterists’ Society study clearly highlights developing countries, which are often limited resources, can benefit hugely contributions to conservation initiatives.
