摘要: Recent work from our group has demonstrated that visual speech can recalibrate auditory identification [1]. Repeated exposure to an ambiguous token (one intermediate between /aba/ and /ada/), combined with the sight of a face articulating one end-point tokens (/aba/ or increased during subsequent unimodal tests frequency responses consistent preceding stimulus. In contrast, combination congruent unambiguous (both both /ada/) reduced tendency judge in accordance exposed tokens, revealing selective adaptation. present experiment, it is shown these two effects build up at different rates, thus bringing new evidence for existence underlying processes.
