摘要: Improved methods for the preparation of ricinelaidic acid and methyl ricinelaidate are described. The depend upon elaidinization ricinoleate with a relatively small quantity nitrite-nitric solution, fractional crystallization ricinelaidate, its subsequent hydrolysis to acid. infrared spectra these two compounds presented, bands arising from deformation C−H about thetrans C=C group discussed. Absorptivity values this band in chlorform carbon disulfide solutions given as additional criteria purity ester. absorption procedure quantitative determination isolatedtrans ethylenic bond was applied both ricinelaidate. Details specific procedures each compound equations necessary their calculation. Use is illustrated analysis mixtures. repeatability accuracy obtaineble given. A value reported ricinoleate—methyl equilibrium mechanism reaction discussed briefly.
