Knowledge, Attitudes, and Behavior in Avoiding Secondhand Smoke Exposure Among Non-Smoking Employed Women with Higher Education in Jordan

摘要: Secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure is a serious public health threat worldwide; in the developing world there are less efforts towards controlling women’s and children’s to SHS. Knowledge, attitudes avoidance practices among Jordanian women have never been thoroughly studied. The purpose of this study was assess knowledge, attitudes, behavior SHS employed with higher education. Methods: A survey conducted at two universities. total 209 were included analysis. Two questionnaires regarding used measure practices. Results: Most respondents regularly exposed various locations during daily life, even though they very knowledgeable about dangers for children. However, subject’s did not reflect level knowledge risks. results suggests large discrepancy between exposure, highly educated that likely influenced by culture traditional gender roles. Public initiatives needed Jordan address policy, institutional empowerment reduce exposure.
