摘要: Shame is given different meanings in various cultural contexts. In Japan, shame-prone and self-effacing behavior tends to be positive functional value actively promoted by society. the United States, society prohibit such show of one's vulnerability, while encouraging visible demonstration power capacity. The author shows that these shame reflect values secretiveness two societies. He concludes suggesting an alternative view encourages flexibility rather than exclusively or negative secretiveness.
