Constraints on Pasta Structure of Neutron Stars

摘要: We show that shear modes in a neutron star crust are quite sensitive to the existence of non-uniform nuclear structures, so-called “pasta.” Due pasta phase, frequencies reduced and dependence on fundamental frequency is different from overtones. Since torsional depend strongly structure one can probe observations stellar oscillations. This difficult do with other types observations. In addition, by considering effect we it possible explain observed SGR 1806-20 using only modes.
