摘要: Abstract Objective: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy in detection endometrial pathologies women with postmenopausal bleeding not using hormonal replacement therapy (HRT). Methods: Between January 1997 April 1998, 106 uterine HRT underwent a work-up including pelvic examination, ultrasound, biopsy. Sonographic measurement thickness hysteroscopic findings were compared histological results. The ‘classification tree’ method was used to identify cut-off values sonographic that could be indicative class pathology. Statistical analysis performed McNemar test. Results: No case cancer found point 5 mm evaluated by whereas all patients ≥15 at sonography had an carcinoma. In group between 6 14 mm, we normal atrophic endometria, benign malignant On other hand, test showed very good correspondence histology (sensitivity 97.5% specificity 100%), confirming its usefulness diagnosis bleeding. Conclusions: Transvaginal has revealed some limitations, mainly mm. absence malignancy ≤5 high possibility those should confirmed larger series. Hysteroscopy proved simple safe outpatient procedure accuracy, our opinion it considered
