摘要: Study objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) as administered in emergency department (ED) for patients with acute ankle injuries. Methods Patients aged 18 years and older unilateral sprains were randomly assigned either an OMT group or a control group. Independent outcome variables included edema, range motion (ROM), pain. Both groups received current standard care instructed return follow-up examination. also one session from physician. Results had statistically significant (F = 5.92, P .02) improvement edema pain trend toward increased ROM immediately following intervention OMT.
