摘要: BACKGROUND Indexes to quantify adherence recommended dietary patterns have been developed for Western populations, but it is unclear whether these indexes can predict acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Asian populations. OBJECTIVES We aimed investigate the association between Alternative Healthy Eating Index (AHEI)-2010 and risk of AMI evaluate potential mediation by traditional cardiovascular factors a Chinese population. METHODS A nested case-control study 751 incident cases (564 nonfatal 288 fatal) 1443 matched controls was conducted within prospective Singapore Health Study, cohort ethnic men women aged 45-75 y. At baseline, habitual diet assessed using validated, semiquantitative food-frequency questionnaire. were ascertained via linkage with nationwide hospital databases (confirmed through medical record review) Birth Death Registry. evaluated AHEI-2010 factors, including glycated hemoglobin, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, creatinine, plasma lipids (LDL HDL cholesterol, triglycerides), blood pressure. ORs 95% CIs computed multivariable-adjusted conditional logistic regression models. RESULTS Higher scores associated lower (OR highest quartile compared lowest quartile: 0.62; CI: 0.47, 0.81; P-trend < 0.001), similar associations fatal (OR: 0.60; 0.39, 0.94; = 0.009) 0.59; 0.43, 0.002) AMI. This only slightly attenuated after adjustment biological intermediates 0.64; 0.48, 0.86; 0.003). CONCLUSIONS Adherence recommendations as reflected substantially an population, this largely independent factors.
