摘要: The mechanisms of boundary lubrication were investigated by comparing the capability selected oil blends to protect 52100 steel, silicon nitride, and partially stabilized zirconia from wear. A four-ball wear tester was used test parameters varied find optimum conditions for each material/lubricant combination. Additives considered effective when both rate in blend, ratio blend that base oil, low. It found ceramics can be lubricated remarkably well stock alone, additives pro or antiwear, depending sensitively on sliding conditions. model developed correlating performance with appearance scars this work, observations a parallel study using direct observation machine. is based upon properties friction material which composed submicron particles generated rubbing contact. Friction control either directly as paste after compaction into semi-permanent films. also cause damaging antiwear films, accumulating ahead contacts starving them lubricant.
