摘要: Abstract In preparation for clinical trials of a vaccine against herpes zoster (HZ), we conducted prospective, observational study to evaluate (1) the Zoster Brief Pain Inventory (ZBPI), an HZ-specific questionnaire quantify HZ pain and discomfort, (2) operational definition postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), (3) severity-duration measure burden illness caused by HZ. patients aged 60 years or older (n = 121) were enrolled within 14 days rash onset completed ZBPI, McGill Questionnaire Present Intensity (PPI), quality life (QoL), activities daily living (ADL) questionnaires on predetermined schedule. Reliability, measured intraclass correlation coefficients onset, ranged between 0.63 0.78. ZBPI scores strongly correlated with other measures, interference ADL, worsening QoL. The PHN, score 3 greater occurring 90 more after had high agreement worse than mild PPI (kappa 0.72). correlations measures ADL interference, QoL, scales. These findings support validity utility illness. Perspective Herpes pain, as measure, is associated impairment in life. appears useful quantifying neuralgia, prevention.
