摘要: A new species of spinetail (Furnariidae: Cranioleuca) is described from the dry Andean valleys La Paz, Bolivia. Morphologically it very similar to, yet distinguishable from, Line-cheeked Spinetail Cranioleuca antisiensis northern Peru and southwestern Ecuador Pallid pallida eastern Brazil. However, related forms which replace each other sharply in intervening areas are much more different, giving a “leapfrog” pattern geographic variation. We infer this that geographically disjunct but similar-looking not particularly closely to other, we suggest all adjacent morphologically distinctive should receive equivalent taxonomic treatment.
