摘要: Parapatric speciation across sharp ecological gradients is an alternative to the more usual allopatric model as both a general explanation of organismal diversification and explicit statement regarding differentiation tropical forest biotas (Endler, 1977, 1982a, 1982b). The relevance this species small mammals distributed 3,000 meter gradient on eastern flank Peruvian Andes examined here by phylogenetic analysis comparative mitochondrial DNA sequences, relying freshly collected samples extracts taken from skins preserved in museum collections. These analyses falsify applicability case. Moreover, approach employed provides test feasibility for any other taxon, either plant or animal, lowland Amazonian forest.
