摘要: St James's Hospital is a tertiary referral center for percutaneous intervention and cardiothoracic surgery number of referring hospitals. This article reports on the development implementation synchronized, interactive teleconferencing system cardiac images that links St. with remote site (Sligo General Hospital) overcomes problems transmission large image files. Teleconferencing was achieved by setting up lossless auto patient files overnight conferencing next morning linked control signals databases. As suitable product not available, commercially new software developed. The imaging databases, monitors synchronizes progress through sequences, range processing functions. All parties to conference are ensured they looking at same as played or specific aspects an other party highlighting. allows management decisions be made weekly joint teleconference surgeons interventional cardiologists from both sites. Rapid decision making facilitated 70% obtained within 24 h, 88% 1 week their procedure. In urgent cases, data can transmitted 20 min diagnostic increased access angiography patients living in rural areas, provides more focused revascularization. Participation cardiologist has improved quality making.
