摘要: Background: Brief measures that accurately discriminate normal cognitive aging from very mild dementia are lacking. Cognitive tests often insensitive to dementia. Informant-based may be more sensitive in detecting early Objective: To identify informant-reported clinical variables differentiate cognitively individuals those with Methods: A 55-item battery of informant queries regarding an individual9s status was derived a semistructured interview and consensus panel experts. The evaluated informants for 189 consecutive participants longitudinal study memory compared independently obtained Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) score the participant. Multiple regression receiver operator characteristic curves assessed subsets items between CDR 0 (no dementia) 0.5 (very dementia). Results: final version (AD8) querying memory, orientation, judgment, function administered additional sample 112 68 participants. Using cut-off two endorsed, area under curve 0.834, suggesting good excellent discrimination, sensitivity 74%, specificity 86% (prevalence 0.38 Inclusion 56 severe (increasing prevalence 0.53) increased 85%. Conclusions: AD8 is brief, measure reliably differentiates nondemented demented individuals. Use conjunction brief assessment participant could improve diagnostic accuracy general practice.
