摘要: Adaptation and mitigation share the ultimate purpose of reducing climate change impacts. However, they tend to be considered separately in projects policies because their different objectives scales. Agriculture forestry are related both adaptation mitigation: contribute greenhouse gas emissions removals, vulnerable variations, form part adaptive strategies for rural livelihoods. We assessed how project design documents (PDDs) a joint contribution agriculture tropics, by analyzing 201 PDDs from funds, instruments, standards [e.g., community biodiversity (CCB)]. analyzed whether established one goal reported an explicit other (i.e., contributed vice versa). also examined proposed activities or expected outcomes allowed potential contributions two goals. Despite separation between goals international national institutions, 37% explicitly mentioned objective, although only half those substantiated it. In addition, most (90%) all could potentially report at least partially goal. Some developers were interested prospect carbon funding, whereas integrated achieve greater long-term sustainability attain CCB certification. International institutions can provide incentives harness synergies avoid trade-offs mitigation.
