摘要: The goal of this paper is two-fold. First, I begin by reviewing several themajor points emphasis among health educatorsas they to incorporate multiculturalissues into healthcare education. thenconsider the role moral relativism, which iscurrently being endorsed some healtheducators, as foundation for resolvingcross-cultural conflicts in healthcare. Iargue that relativism ultimatelyinconsistent with stated goals inmulticultural curricular proposals and fails toprovide an effective framework consideringmoral cross-cultural settings. Instead, propose those methods seekingto establish a common morality, built uponmutually shared values, offer mostpromising means resolving cross-culturalconflicts. This leads my second goal, tocompare recent work pragmatism withwhat now widely known bioethics moral``principlism.'' argue while proponentsof principlism each seek toestablish moraldeliberation, fail appreciatesignificant similarities between theirrespective approaches. Instead offeringtwo completely unique independent methodsof deliberation, suggest thatprinciplism embrace commonthemes point us positive direction, providing useful forconsidering inhealthcare.
