摘要: Umbilical cord blood (UCB) has emerged as an important source of stem cells. UCB cells exhibit robust proliferation and plasticity compared to adult-derived bone marrow peripheral Distinct advantages for vascular therapy comprise the existing infrastructure standardization facilitating efficient collection, storage, worldwide distribution units, with a low risk infectious disease transmission, enhanced gene transfer efficiency. Importantly, teratoma formation not been observed in animal models. Approximately 30,000 transplants have performed, bypassing paramount challenge application embryonic induced pluripotent clinical practice. This chapter will focus on current evaluations UCB-derived medicine particular emphasis neurologic cardiovascular applications.
