摘要: Objective To investigate Tumour-Node-Metastasis (TNM) stage and demographics at presentation in a very large, contemporary UK cohort of patients with bladder cancer compare them other published series, as little data exists on the pathological characteristics presentation. Patients Methods The British Association Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Section Oncology started new urological tumour registry 1998. We performed analysis all cases between 1999 2008. Tumour TNM stage, grade histopathological diagnosis were reviewed along standard epidemiological data. Results In all, 69 712 registrations recorded. Complete T, N M was available for 32 240 patients. The male to female ratio study population 3:1 overall median (sd, range) age 73 (11.6, 6–108) years. Final T staging showed that non-muscle-invasive accounted 75% remaining 25% being muscle-invasive disease. Of these patients, 8% had nodal disease 4% metastatic sites presentation. The G1–2 65% G3 35% cases. Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) 92%, squamous adenocarcinomas 1.5% each, 5% histological variants. Conclusions Non-muscle-invasive TCC UK. The 1973 World Health Organization classification remains widespread use amongst pathologists UK. Obtaining complete standardised pathology reporting systems challenge.
