Genetic analysis of reproductive, vegetative and fruit quality traits to improve Citrus varieties

摘要: To extend the harvesting period of high quality seedless fruits in citrus variety breeding programs, 20 traits related to vegetative growth (2), sexual reproduction (5), and fruit (13) were genetically studied a segregating population hybrids derived from reciprocal cross between two commercial varieties, Fortune (a Citrus clementina hybrid) Chandler grandis that largely differ size, taste, color, date. Juice colors tritable acidity showed highly significant cytoplasm x harvest interaction where was associated with higher means those parameters for first second harvests only. Type also seeds content heterostyly flowers. Very few (11.3 %) self-compatible, less than one fourth progeny parthenocarpic ability. Two Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) governing flower self-compatibility found linked group 3 C. segregation distortion had been previously reported. Only major QTLs consistently detected traits, map contributing up 21.3 % rind thickness another 59.7 % at optimal maturing harvest. Unexpectedly, soluble-solids seed number positively correlated what could be explained by linkage some involved. Present information on positions 68 will useful search candidate genes peak regions.
