Patterns of plant species distribution on coastal dunes along the Gulf of Mexico

摘要: Floristic data of coastal dunes along the Mexican coast Gulf Mexico were collected from published sources, field work and herbaria. 467 species belonging to seventy-eight families in sixty-nine areas included. The majority are mainly distributed tropical regions, represented by few species. widespread including Gramineae, Compositae, Leguminosae, Cyperaceae Euphorbiaceae well represented. Seven patterns distribution found; they correlated with variation sand composition (light-coloured siliceous, dark-coloured siliceous calcareous), climatic factors (mainly amount precipitation minimal temperature), stability dune systems. flora was compared that northern littorals Mexico, Florida, south-eastern U.S.A.
