摘要: Abstract To determine whether vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is involved in paradoxical sleep (PS) homeostasis, VIP-like immunoreactivity (VI-PLI) of discrete brain areas was determined by radioimmunoassay after 24 and 48 h PS deprivation the watertank technique followed or not 5 rebound. This study carried out with an environmental control (placed dry watertank: DWC) a nonstressed control. Such induced decrease VIP content PS-deprived rats restricted to cortex anterior pituitary. In cortex, VIP-LI same magnitude normal rebound; as such also observed DWC, it could be due stress related experiment rather than lack sleep. pituitary, duration greater specifically since DWC rats. After rebound, recovery total 24-h partial 48-h one. all eight other structures studied, unchanged experimentation. These results strongly suggest that homeostasis but indicated experiments more probably circadian organization
