摘要: Background: Recent research and guidelines recommend the routine use of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring for diagnosis hypertension, so accuracy such monitors is more important than ever. Aim: To systematically review literature regarding currently in use. Methods: Medline, Embase, Cinahl, Cochrane database, Medion dabl Educational Trust website were searched until February 2011. No language or publication date limits applied. Data extracted separately by two independent reviewers. Methodological quality was assessed whether a validation protocol had been used followed correctly. Results: From 5420 journal articles identified, 108 met inclusion criteria. Excluding studies assessing no longer use, 40 relevant found using 21 different monitors. Thirty-eight (95%) which 28 monitor general population. Of these, protocols passed 24 studies, but 12 (50%) difference at least 5 mmHg systolic between test device reference standard 30% readings. 10 conducted special population groups (e.g. pregnancy, elderly people), only four devices protocols.
