Estimating Critical Stresses Required for Twin Growth in a Magnesium Alloy

摘要: The aim of this study is to determine a value for the critical resolved stress growth deformation twins. Loading–unloading tests are performed on extruded magnesium alloy Mg-3Al-1Zn loads under which twins begin shrink during unloading. After conversion applied mean values, stresses seen increase from 6 14 MPa as plastic strain raised 1 6 pct. It suggested that “relaxation” dislocations generated accommodate twinning contribute building hard dislocation forest. effect analyzed by analogy with accommodation formed at non-deforming particles.
