摘要: Specific targeting of drugs to the colon is recognized have several therapeutic advantages. Drugs which are destroyed by stomach acid and/or metabolized pancreatic enzymes slightly affected in colon, and sustained colonic release can be useful treatment nocturnal asthma, angina arthritis. Treatment diseases such as ulcerative colitis, colorectal cancer Crohn's disease more effective with direct delivery area. Likewise, vermicides diagnostic agents require smaller doses. This article aimed at providing insight into design considerations evaluation drug systems. For this purpose, anatomy physiology lower gastrointestinal tract surveyed. Furthermore, biopharmaceutical aspects considered relation absorption hence various approaches colon-specific discussed.
