摘要: Abstract Because of its superior toughness, strength and weldability, high performance steel (HPS) has gained increasing popularity for use in highway bridges. Its fatigue resistance, however, is not yet well characterized. To study the behaviour HPS, an analytical method that can predict both crack initiation propagation desirable. The established proven methods, coupled with a material-based testing programme, provides sound cost effective approach to developing design curves HPS. Of various methods life prediction available, strain-based energy-based seem be most promising. In order obtain necessary material input parameters proposed also better understand properties tests were conducted on ASTM A709 HPS 485W conventional structural more typical toughness level characterize their monotonic cyclic properties. higher strength, exhibits slightly resistance cycle region non-welded details compared steels lower toughness.
